Day 1 in the Test Driving Retirement experiment

To start off the day, I told my daughter that I was unemployed. I thought she would have been happier to spend a little more time with her father. I think there is a little smile in there...

So today starts the "Retirement Test Drive" stage of my life. I left Alberto Culver after 7 years and have decided to take on new challenges. I told my wife, please don't fall down the stairs or in any other way maim yourself. We are unemployed and are on Cobra insurance. I am guessing that there are only a few hospitals that will take Cobra insurance and they are probably not manned with the most up to date clinical expertise.

I woke up around 10 o'clock this morning. I thought that I would sleep in more, but I guess day 1 isn't going to
be a late morning. I tried to explain to Maddie that I was on vacation and she needed to respect that. I can't even go swimming yet...

My final tidbit from day 1 was my first class. This is my last semester and I only had one class that fit into my schedule. I am finishing my master's program with "Introduction to Internet Marketing." I found the title strange, but thought I could ease my way through. For a great laugh, check out the Internet video we watched in class.

I will have a very long semester I think, just me and zoobie...

Well, after one day, I think that I could get used to this, but I will take it one day at a time and try not to get greedy...

Until tomorrow...
